An email list building or electronic mailing list is a special use of email that allows for widespread distribution of information to many internet users. It is similar to a traditional mailing list â a list of names and addresses â as might be kept by an organization for sending publications to its members or customers.
Here we are building a digital asset in the form of email database to send them information about products, valuable articles or announcement of certain event to the subscribers email address.
Why You Need Email List Building?
List building is the lifeblood of any business to stay alive. It allows you to build relationships with your clients, learn about the problems theyâre experiencing, and accumulate repeat sales over time. The problem is that email list building is also the area that most people struggle with the most.

In second case though?
50% marketers have made over $5,000 online who are building their email list. What is the conclusion of this survey?
CONCLUSION: 94% of wealth-seekers are stuck in a rut, trying to make money online, but never succeeding. If you made less than $5,000 online, donât feel bad â youâre just part of âthe 94%â like most peopleâŚ
How To Build An Email List From Scratch In Just 30 Days?
Personally, I think people just make it WAY too complicated.
Confucius once said âLife is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.â
The same can be as of business- even if there is âeasy roadâ of email list building online.
Well the first step is figuring out what market youâll get into.
Choose your interest i.e Niche Market.
When it comes down to email list building, it has just a few main steps:
1) Pick your niche
2) Offer a free gift
3) Set up a squeeze page
4) Get ready for Traffic
Thatâs it!
Day 1: Picking the Right Niche
The first thing I want to make clear is that if you spend too much time on this step, youâll never make it to step 2. Most people REALLY over-analyze picking a niche, but it doesnât have to be very difficult.
Just like list building as a whole, simpler is better. All you really need to do is look for people that are desperate for help. Like the saying goes, you canât sell ice to an Eskimo, but you can certainly sell water to a man in the desert!
The point is that you want to get into a market with people who are DESPERATE for help. For some people, they may need to make a little more money each month to cover the bills. Others may have some marriage issues, and are facing a possible divorce if things donât change.
Tens of millions of people are struggling with their weight, and despite trying every diet under the sun they just canât keep the pounds off.
To make it easy on you, there are really only three massively huge and desperate markets you should choose from.
Those three are health, wealth, and relationships.
A good example is weight loss for women under 30. Your free gift can be report explaining a few fat-burning spices and herbs to help kick-start their metabolism.
Then you might promote a product that gives them a complete diet program to follow. Finally, you may offer higher-priced coaching or mentorship programs for implementing exercise and stress relief into their busy lives.
Finding Perfect Niche by âNiche It Downâ Method
But thereâs just a little bit more to choosing a niche than picking something in one of these markets. To be successful, you canât be a small fish in a big ocean.
Instead, try to be the big fish in a small pond.
The best way to do that- especially when youâre first starting out, is to specialize in a certain area. One of my favorite method is to âniche it downâ three times.
So itâd look like this:
1) Weight loss
2) Weight loss for men
3) Kettle-bells Weight loss for men
4) Weight-loss for men over 40 with kettle-bells
That is how you pick a perfect niche. You want the audience to feel like the product or service youâre promoting is 100%, without a doubt, designed to help them with their problems.
Only then youâll be able to establish yourself as an expert and build a trusting, loyal audience.
Do this today!
1) Pick a major market (health, wealth or relationships)
2) âNiche it downâ three times
3) Confirm that there is a sizable market (a.k.a. youâre not too specific)
Once youâve picked a niche, itâs time to get all of the tools youâll need to build an email list.
Day 2 & 3: Equip an Email List Building Tools

Now, letâs talk about some of the tools youâll need to succeed with email list building. There are a few different ones, but donât be intimidated.
Get an Auto-Responder
The very first thing that youâre absolutely going to need is a good, reliable auto-responder. (Autoresponders are online services that are able to store emails of people and followup with them on cetain time and dates you set.)
They send newsletters or broadcast messages to those email addresses who subscribe to your email list through squeeze pages.
There are bunch of auto-responders out there online. Here are some of them and their prices per month.
Recently, I found a great list management system that is free to use (it is recommended to become PRO member and use all of their other tools).
You can use it to build your own list, set up autoresponder, send broadcasts and even track the email open rates, create landing pages, No website needed, get free traffic and lots more..

That said- I HIGHLY recommend that you stay away from most of the âfreeâ services. Remember that it is your ONLINE ASSET.
Most free services are not free really. You may not pay a dime for them, you may be paying in terms of horrible reliability, time wasted, and who knows what else.

So check out both services and finally choose one which you like the most. The only difference between these two services is that the traditional autoresponder service required email to be submitted; on the other hand Push Notifications uses computerâs IP address.
Just keep in mind that once you make your decision, stick with them as long as you can. Itâs possible to switch to getresponse or to aweber or vice-a-versa. But not from push notifications to aweber or getresponse.

Get a Niche Domain Name
Now, the next thing that youâre going to need is a domain name, if you want to BRAND your business. This is your address on the busy streets of the internet. Without one, how in the world are customers supposed to find you?
Obviously this can be just about anything you want, but it should be related to your niche and what you have to offer.
Having a website like âMyFavoriteStuff.comâ is a bit silly if your business is about helping stay at home mothers with their vegetable gardens. Make sense?
So letâs say youâre in the make money online or home business niche and you want to build a list that gives out tips and ideas about âHow to build an email listâ, and make money with affiliate marketing to your subscribers; a domain name you could go with is something like
âemailmarketingtips.comâ or âlistbuildingpro.comâ etcâŚ
Morever, your domain should contain your niche keyword or it should reflect about your niche. Also it should be short and memorable. .com extention is recommended.
Google âDomain Registrarâ or go to GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com and get your domain name registered.

Get a Hosting for Your Website
Now, youâre going to need a good, reliable hosting provider. Once again, I donât recommend that you use a free hosting provider. Afterall, you are entering in the world of online business. You are creating an ASSET that gonna pay you for life.
You just never know whatâs going to happen with free hosting. They usually bring in all of their revenue via advertising, which isnât exactly something you want to build your business around.
And remember that this is a BUSINESS. You donât need the highest quality tools out there, but you should be willing to invest in solid tools for it to work properly over the long-term.
There are a lot of good paid hosting providers out there but there is one I can recommend is ASN Hosting.
It is not just hosting, but you can make some money by simply hosting your website with ASN. No other hosting company will pay you for using their services. Theyâre fantastic.

Day 4 & 6: Creating Your List Building Bait (Free Offer)

First off, I hope that quote didnât offend you. I laughed when I first saw it and hopefully you did too!
Anyways, letâs talk about your free offer. This is what youâre going to promise someone in exchange for their email address (or to join your push notification list).
Option #1: Your Own Digital Product(s)
This is something that you can give away for free but is packed with enough information that someone would happily pay for it. Does that mean it has to be worth $100, $50 or even $20?
No- it could be a very short PDF document. Iâve seen free gifts that were just 1-3 pages long, but contained more valuable information than $97 video courses.
It just depends on how targeted, clear and usable the gift is. So for example, letâs say youâre in the Internet marketing niche. Your free gift may be a short video on how to use a free template to make a squeeze page.
Another example is a list of highly-converting subject lines someone can use in their auto-responder.
Again, this should be something that can be digested quickly, is easy for you to create, and provides a helpful service or information to the new subscriber.
Just remember that what you promise on your squeeze page matches what the gift actually does!
How to Create FREE Offer (Giveaway)
To create a report or an eBook that you can give away, use something like Microsoft Word, Open Office to type it out or use Canva.com. Make sure that it looks nice, is straight to the point, and has your name and website on it.
When youâre done you should convert it into PDF format. This not only helps protect the formatting and your content, but it also makes it easier for your subscriber to open and read.

Option #2: Use of Affiliate Product for Email List Building
If youâre not able to create anything free for your list-building gift then choose affiliate marketing offers instead.
The great thing about affiliate offers is that they are tested to converts using different sales copies, different angles and having a great niche research by the businesses.
You only need to find one great affiliate offer related to your niche. Clickbank, JVZoo and Warrior+ are some of the best affiliate networks for digital products.
Choose one offer from your niche and examine their sales letter.
Note down their bullet points, what problems it is going to solve of the people etc and build your custom images for this affiliate offer to use on your squeeze page (coming next..)
TIP: Using default images can cause lower conversion because those images are seen everywhere as hundreds of other marketers are using it and get saturated sometime.
So, Whatever you decide to do- your own report, âhot sheetâ of just 1-5 pages, a video or software or any affiliate marketing offer- just get it done and move on!
You can always change and tweak things later, but the most important thing is to just get moving forward.
After all, you canât âtweakâ something that doesnât even exist, right?
Once you have your free gift, itâs time to set up your download page and the rest of your email list building funnel.
Day 7 & 8: Squeeze Page and Sales Funnel Setup
The next thing that youâre going to need to build your email list is a squeeze page (optin-page). This is the page where youâre going to send your visitors (traffic) so they can sign up to your list.
You can make your own if you know HTML or you can make it easy on yourself and use a tool. The most common tools are WordPress themes and plug-in, or HTML templates.
If you have hosting account, you can install WordPress, since this allows you to not just build squeeze pages but also build out a full website as well.

Day 9 To 30: Driving Targeted Traffics (Aka Visitors)
First off, let me tell you that things are probably taking longer than you expected. I know you were hoping that youâd be able to setup everything in just 30 minutes and be ready to start driving traffic.
Traffic is the life-blood of any business to sustain for longer. Without getting traffic, your email list building efforts are nothing and you are not going to make any money.
Either way there are TWO methods to get traffic to build your email list⌠first is, free traffic and second one is paid traffic.
How to Build an Email List with FREE Traffic
Free traffic is not really free, you need to invest more time to get desirable results. Also it will take longer to see the results that you want.
Blogging and article marketing is the #1 way to get free targeted traffic from search engines. Because they are the people actually searching for their solution. They are in dire need of something to solve their problems.
Safelists are also good way to get some motivated people to see your offer. But the problem with safelists marketing is that you will be flooded with emails from other safelist marketers.
They are there to promote their opportunity like you and they are not much interested in joining you unless your offer is attractive and in the same niche as they are.
How to Build an Email List Fast with Paid Traffic
Paid traffic is fast and get results much faster than free traffic methods. Off-course, it cost you money so be careful while choosing a paid traffic sources. There are many scammers who sales you bogus and useless click or visitors.
1. Solo Ads Networks
Let your offer promoted by other email list owners in your niche with paid clicks. This is fast way to grow and build your list. But as said before, be careful with choosing the right solo provider.
Try Udimi for your first solo ads and see if you are getting best results for your money.
You may need to pay from $0.3 to $1 for each clicks depending on solo ads sellers reputation and quality of traffics.
First test your squeeze page with 200-300 clicks and see your conversion to the offer. If you are happy with the results, go and get more click and your list building will grow faster than you think.
Or simply you can try Googles or Bings PPC (Pay Per Clicks) ads network. So if you donât like blogging for free targeted traffic from Google and Bings search engine, try their paid ads option.
2. Traffic Agencies
The second most effective paid traffic sources are Traffic Agencies. They are tie up with other high traffic websites who gets 10s of thousands of visitors per day. This traffic is highly motivated and ready to get in to your offer if your ad clicks in to their mind.
